Following is a sample Interactive Team-Building Event:

The guests arrive at 6:00. After settling in with an apron, and perhaps a glass of wine, the group divides into three teams, each team preparing one course.

Rare Tuna Spring Roll with Soy, Lime and Mache Salad
The dish requires that the group work separately in order to get all the preparation done, but then come together as a team to roll the spring rolls. One person cuts the tuna, and marinates it. A second person assembles the spinach and herbs for the filling. Another person makes the salad and the fourth person combines the dipping sauce. With all the preparation done, they come together to roll the spring rolls: they must make enough for the entire group. When the other teams are close to completing their dishes, this team fries the spring rolls and serves their colleagues the first course.
Grilled Lamb with Crispy Rice Cakes and Spicy Peanut Sauce, Brochette of Japanese Eggplant
The group is slightly larger because each task is more involved. Two people are marinating the lamb and grilling it. Another 2 people are cooking the rice, and then forming rice cakes. A sub group of 2 is assembling the ingredients and preparing the peanut sauce. And finally, 2 more people are slicing, roasting and skewering eggplant. After the group has finished eating the first course, this team  assemble, plate and serve the main dish.

Pavlova with Gingered Curd and Tropical Fruit
This team works together through the entire recipe. First, they work on the pavlovas: one person separates  eggs, another chops the ginger, and the third person measures the sugar and vanilla. The eggs are whipped, and each person forms several meringue discs. After the discs are in the oven, they start on the Curd. They must council each other because they are not sure at which point the curd is cooked. Finally they must cut all the fruit. After dinner they return to the kitchen to assemble their dessert.

While enjoying the meal, each team discusses how they completed their dishes. Did they work together as a group? Did one person take over as the leader? Did the team commandeer a chef to guide them?
